So what’s been going on?
Lots of little bits of work to be honest. Nothing earth shaking but its all little bits of tweaking.
I’ve just added a plugin to allow intergration with Facebook, so when you post a blog entry on here its posted to your Facebook Page. I also extended the functionality of that plugin by adding a FB Status widget so that you can now display your FB profile picture and status on the side bar in your blog.
The Twitter plugin has also been upgraded which adds a lot of additional functionality, so if you Tweet its worth looking into.
I’m working on extending the Route importer to allow you to basically refresh the route with updated information from CanalPlan AC. As you’ll know the data in CanalPlan is continually being updated and enhanced. This means that the route you blogged about 4 months ago might now have much better mapping data (more intermediate places), or maybe you had to compromise on an overnight location and that place has now been added. Well the data refresh will allow you to refresh the route data, and then you’ll have to go in and reset the overnight locations.
Over on CanalPlan AC itself Nick’s added a “Vote for this mooring location” feature, so if you know a good mooring spot you can vote for it, of course doing that means that more people might moor there… At the moment the planner doesn’t use that information but the way we sort of see it working is that the planner might say “You can either stop slightly earlier, or push on a little more, to stop at X,Y or Z which are good mooring spots”
