Restructuring the site
I was having problems running subdomains for the site – the pages displayed just fine but there were often delays of several seconds before anything happened. The server was quiet during that gap which suggests it was a DNS issue… this was reinforced by the fact that accessing the main, top level blog, was quick but other blogs (on subdomains) were slow.
So I’ve revamped everything to run as subdirectories – which in a way makes sense as it shows that all the blogs are on a common subject.
